What?

For this year's stream, I will be playing 24 straight hours of Donkey Kong Bananza for the Switch 2.

The world of Donkey Kong Bananza is filled with collectibles, most prominently 'Banandium Gems'.

There are a total of 1,000 'Banandium Gems' that can be collected throughout the game, and I will be donating $1 to the Alzheimer’s Association for each gem I collect during the stream.

When?

The charity live stream will begin at 11:30pm PT on Friday, November 14th and will last 24 hours. The window to donate is open now and closes on Sunday, November 30th, so please feel free to donate before or after the live stream.

Where?

The stream will go live on Twitch at twitch.tv/schmidlak

If you miss the stream and want to watch the replay, you can find the stream archived on my YouTube channel at youtube.com/@CTSchmidlak

How?

The donation page is hosted by Streamlabs and can be found by clicking here. Donations are processed by PayPal.

Simply select a donation amount, provide your name and a comment (completely optional!) and an email address (required), then hit the “donate” button. If you donate during the stream, I will receive a live notification and will be sure to give you a shout out!

Why?

Alzheimer's is a type of dementia that affects memory, thinking, and behavior and accounts for 60-80% of dementia cases. Alzheimer's is a progressive disease, where symptoms gradually worsen over a number of years until individuals lose the ability to carry on a conversation and respond to their environment.

Statistics about the prevalence of Alzheimer's Disease

Nearly 7 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s and approximately 33% of seniors die with Alzheimer’s or another form of Dementia.

Unfortunately, I am all too familiar with just how devastating this disease can be. My father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2017, and passed away in 2022.

That is why for my birthday I am asking you to join me in making a donation to help lead the fight against Alzheimer’s Disease.

The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
